Most of us only got a first look at multi-touch computing through Apple's recent iPhone release. But there are already quite a few different applications using it. This Popular Mechanics video shows just how far its come in some (almost) ready-to-sell products. Kinda fancy.

And for more information, How Stuff Works explains the multi-touch system in the iPhone.

Even Microsoft's Surfaces (and you should watch this hilarious parody of it) isn't anything new to the people who are familiar with Jeff Han's work on surface technology -- you can probably find a bunch of stuff about his demo's on YouTube.

Yup, I visited that Perceptive Pixel website a little while ago. But I guess the cool factor it didn't occur to me until it was integrated with the software shown in the Popular Mechanics video. The iPhone commercials and demos didn't really wow me that much. Neat, yes, but not impressive. The Microsoft table and Perceptive Pixel work looks far more impressive (also because it's bigger).

Yeah, Ben is aware of Microsoft's touch computer system. I'm on top of this technology since it is part of my job. I had a video somewhere but I'm sure you can find it on YouTube.
